Functionality
Autonomous cleaning robots handle large, open, repetitive hard-floor surfaces on mapped routes. Your staff is redeployed to detail work, edges, and customer-facing tasks. These robots augment a cleaning team they don’t replace it.
Best fit: large, open, hard-floor, high-traffic venues with hygiene or compliance reporting requirements. Poor fit: small, cluttered, or carpet-heavy spaces, and sites where the labour-cost economics don’t support the investment.

AiRK’s role
Hardware (robot chassis, cleaning module) is partner-sourced from established manufacturers. AiRK owns:
- AI integration facility mapping, route configuration, fleet coordination
- Fleet operations remote monitoring, exception handling, consumables tracking
- Deployment facility mapping, staff training; typically days to weeks, not months
- The auditable cleaning record per-run coverage maps, utilisation data, and exception logs
The auditable cleaning record is the genuine differentiator. It is the compliance artefact that justifies the deployment to FM directors, hospital infection-control teams, and airport authorities.

Technology
Navigation
LiDAR-SLAM + vision (VSLAM), 3D depth cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and line lasers for wall and corner coverage. No floor markers, QR codes, or facility retrofit required.

Coverage and runtime
- Rated coverage: ~1,000–1,500 m²/hr for mid-size scrubbers; larger airport-class units higher
- Real-world throughput: approximately 50–70% of rated figures in occupied, obstacle-dense spaces plan capacity on the lower number, not the rated figure
- Runtime: ~3–6.5 hours per charge; auto-return-to-dock and recharge for overnight or continuous operation
- Water and chemical use: up to 30–80% reduction on some units, depending on floor type and soiling load
Safety
Obstacle avoidance, pedestrian slow/stop, and E-stop are standard on all units. Personnel detection to PLd (ISO 13849) on AMR-class units. Manual-override handle on all units for touch-up and repositioning.
Certifications
Hardware certifications IEC 63327:2021 (autonomous floor-treatment machines), IEC 60335-2-72 (commercial floor machines), CE marking are carried by the manufacturer. AiRK does not self-certify hardware.
AMR-class safety for larger units: ISO 3691-4 (driverless industrial trucks and AMRs); ANSI/RIA R15.08 for US deployments.
UAE data and privacy: onboard cameras can incidentally capture individuals in semi-public venues, triggering obligations under UAE Federal Decree-Law 45/2021 (PDPL) venue-level assessment, signage, retention limits, and access controls. LiDAR spatial maps are not personal data. Camera data is minimised and is never marketed as a monitoring or surveillance feature.
Operational approvals: airports, hospitals, and some malls require venue or authority sign-off for autonomous machines in public areas factor this into deployment timelines.

Consumables: Pads, brushes, detergent, and filters are an incremental operating cost and are not included in the base AMC. Budget for them separately.
Deployment markets
UAE — primary market. Viable in large premium venues (malls, airports, hospitals, 5-star hotels) where the value is consistency, auditable compliance records, and unattended night-shift operation. We work through and with FM operators not against them.
USA — strongest economics, later entry (Year 2–3). The labour-cost case is clearest here, but this is not the near-term focus.
India — selective and deferred. Import duties and low local labour rates make the economics structurally difficult for most venues.
